Wow. Here's the hot little number that was all mine over the weekend. It's the 2008 Infiniti FX from International Infiniti in Waukesha.

This vehicle is a little bit SUV, a little bit sports car, a bit of sedan and ALL luxury. It took me about 20 minutes to figure out the FX's lane change warning signals. I left the lot at International Infiniti and 'beep beep beep' - . Hmm..well, I'll drive a bit..maybe it's the seat-belt. "Beep - beep - beep" - again and again...so, I have to pull over and get the manual out, only to find out this amazing machine has sensors in front behind the grill that sense when you're near the next lane, or drifting from your lane to the median line, or the center line.

Unbelievable. And yes, you can turn it off, but isn't that amazing technology. Equally amazing to me is the FX's Intelligent cruise - where in cruise mode, it will sense the speed of the vehicle ahead of you and then regulate that speed, so you never have  to take your foot off the accelerator. Are you kidding me?

This vehicle is about as swanky as you can get, without the price tag. Again, all the luxury, comfort, power and handling that every Infiniti I've driven possesses..but this little number is unlike any other I've driven so far.

It has the cross-over feel, where you have the room to transport extra cargo, along with your family, but not the "too big and top-heavy" feel to it. It's low and heavy and literally hugs the highway..it's a great vehicle to drive, as it gave me plenty of attitude but also felt very solid and safe..again, perfect for a family man like me.

Last weekend it was this gem - the 2008 M35X, and talk about luxury, and room. Again, for my family, this all-wheel sedan has more than enough room for the four of us - very spacious and comfy. I first realized the room when I slid in to the driver's seat and noticed the huge middle console, where both the IPod and laptop integrations are neatly hid, but right there when you need them. I love all that room your right arm has - a huge, leather-padded rest - weird, maybe, but MAN is that comfortable.

The acceleration and handling are just as tight and quick as the 2-door sport coupe I had a couple weeks ago. Merging onto the freeway is actually fun and was never a concern - it's very quick for an all-wheel sedan. Of course the amenities inside are all there: touch-screen navigation, backing camera, blue-tooth technology that you can answer your cel phone by pushing a button on the steering wheel..!..

It's a beautiful car - and at the risk of sound cliche, it's a car that says "I've arrived." Beautiful lines on the outside, attention to detail and comfort and luxury on the inside.

The International Infiniti test drives delivers another winner this past weekend!

Each weekend, Jaime at International Infiniti gets me the ultimate hookup: a brand new Infiniti to test drive and then talk about here on the blog and on the radio, too.

This past weekend, I settled into a 2008 Infiniti G 35X - an incredibly sporty, and dare I say sexy 4-door sedan. The power and performance of a high-end sports car, but now you have the room of a sedan - and me bein' a family man, that was the first thing my kids said. "Hey, dad, look, we don't have to lean the seats forward and fall into the back of the car." And that would be one of MY favorite features of this car.

It truly is sleek and sexy and the power and performance are every bit as present as the last Infiniti I test drove - the G37 - the 2-door sports package model -

But you have more room - and like me, with a family, this car would be a great fit. Again, another beauty of the Infiniti line is the extreme familiarity with all their models - the on-board navigation screen, the rear backing camera, the dash and speedometer - all similar across the line of Infiniti vehicles - so in this case, I didn't have to "learn" everything all over again - I could climb aboard, strap myself in and instantly begin enjoying the driving, feeling the power and luxury without having to fumble with the navigational screen, or figure out where the button to the sun roof is.

Bottom line with the G35X - it's sooo much like it's sportier brother, the G37, but you now have the room that a 4-door sedan can provide. Again, with a family, this was a perfect match for me; the space for my family of 4, yet the power and performance of a sports car, and you do get plenty of looks as you drive down the road - the handling is tight, the acceleration is amazingly powerful, the freeway cruising is quiet and comfortable - another excellent vehicle from the Infiniti line.

Here's the new 2008 Infiniti GS I took home for the weekend

whew..what a ride.

So many things to tell you: the touch-screen GPS, the camera for backing - and of course the power and acceleration - just the overall luxury and performance make this car an incredible machine.

Now, here's the best part. International Infinity, just west of I-94 on Highway 18 in Waukesha is rolling out this high-end car for a mid-level lease price. The Infinity program running right now is a special 39-month lease, for just $399 a month. (That's less than my wife's mini-van...yikes!..what's up with that!!)
